Machinery & Equipment

We support the future manufacturing of customers by providing powder equipment with the world’s highest performance

Air classifiers and pulverizers are fragship products of Nisshin Engineering. The remarkable thing about our air classifiers is astonishingly high accuracy that other dry type classifiers have not achieved yet. At the same time, our pulverizers achieve miniaturization of powder with narrow particle size distribution. Moreover, we offer distinctive equipment utilizing our powder technology and know-how including feeders, containers, and mixers as well. These are capable of processing powder materials that are difficult to handle.

Proposal, testing, and quotation

First, we conduct interviews about the required specifications for the powder and select the best equipment. We conduct performance tests with actual machines if necessary. A quotation will be issued when the optimum equipment specifications are determined.

Equipment design and manufacturing

As we are familiar with the difficulties of powder, we can design equipment optimized for the physical properties of powder. In addition, we manufacture products under thorough quality management including design considerations for use in production lines, such as operability and maintainability, and self-inspections at the factory.

Commissioning and full operation

Our specialized engineering staff carries out commissioning with the actual production line to check the performance of the equipment and devices. We ensure a smooth launch of production lines through detailed commissioning planning and provide guidance on operation and daily maintenance.

Maintenance

We have established a maintenance system with specialized engineering staff and perform periodic inspections of equipment and devices. In addition, we offer sales and replacement of parts such as consumables and respond quickly to emergency situations such as breakdowns and problems.

Purchase procedure

We offer meticulous services from proposal of equipment selection to maintenance after delivery.

We offer total support from selection to delivery of powder handling equipment.
Regarding the selection, it is important to accurately understand the target particle size, granularity, and difficulty of handling to set up a specific method. We always check whether the customer’s goals are feasible at the beginnning.

  1. Proposal
  2. Testing
  3. Quotation
  4. Equipment manufacturing

  6. Maintenance

Installation is proceeded with according to a flow of proposal, testing, quotation, equipment manufacturing, commissioning, and maintenance. Since technical considerations vary widely, extensive experience and know-how with powders is essential.
In our machinery & equipment business, we investigate from various aspects such as equipment performance, equipment configuration, and cost, and make proposals that materialize customers’ goals while making use of our knowledge of powder technology we have cultivated over more than 50 years.

Features

World-class powder technology

As powders become finer and more advanced, customers are setting higher goals and are trying to achieve them. Beginning with metal powders and ceramics used in electronic and battery materials, we have a rich equipment lineup with a track record of handling a wide range of cutting-edge materials.

We have the ability to solve problems that meet a wide range of needs through proposals from our specialized engineering staff by making use of the knowledge and know-how we have cultivated. As a partner in achieving goals, we contribute to the improvement of the value of customers’ products.

Group structure that realizes more reasonable problem-solving ability

We regard customers’ issues as our own issues and place great importance on the attitude of taking on the challenge of solving problems together. We listen to the voices of each department, including those in charge of engineering and sales, to identify problems and consider measures.
We also support customers’ technology innovation through a cooperative system with the R&D team of the Nisshin Seifun Group.

We do not stop at simply proposing products but identify the essence of capital investment and provide services for integrated support from the planning stage of equipment installation to operation after installation.

Provision of total solutions by a group of powder experts

In cooperation with our Engineering Division, which specializes in plant construction, we provide comprehensive solutions for powder equipment, utilizing Matcon's IBC system for powders and granules.

In addition, we have also established a powder processing center that performs various types of powder processing (pulverization, classification, mixing, etc.). By making use of the technical know-how accumulated there, we propose more practical and reliable equipment.

Product

Pulverization

Point

Fine powder/Sharp particle size distribution/Scale-up/Pharmaceutical GMP

The product lineup includes airflow-driven (jet mill) and mechanically-driven (rotary type) equipment.
The characteristics of the airflow-driven type include sharp particle size distribution of pulverized materials, suppression of heat generation during pulverization, and easy disassembly and cleaning. The mechanically-driven type features pulverization to the fine powder level by low-cost operation and the capability to pulverize soft particles and fibrous materials.

Classification

Point

Nano/Submicron/Dry type/Adhesion prevention

Our air classifiers are of dry type, and are available in forced vortex and semi-free vortex types. A selection can be made from three models based on the classification point. They can handle various raw materials such as plastics, metals, and ceramics, and are capable of sieve mesh size to submicron level classification.

Feeding and Spraying

Point

Micro feeding/Quantitative feeding/Inert gas/Adhesion prevention

Quantitative feeding is a technology that can be used and applied for various purposes. We manufacture and sell micro-quantitative powder feeders. They have achieved feeding in tens of g/h, which is generally considered difficult to stably control, and are also capable of feedback control.

We also offer dispersion feeders and dispersion sprayers that use compressed air or gas to disperse fine powder in the airflow for continuous feeding to a reaction furnace or spraying on the surface of a target object.

Micro-quantitative powder feeder "FeedCon-µ"

This compact micro-quantitative powder feeder is capable of accurately feeding powder at the micro-level.
It meets a wide range of needs from simple equipment to production processes, such as experimental and industrial purposes. The proprietary structure ensures high quantitativity even for powder with adhesive, cohesive, or flushing properties.

IBC System, Mixing, and Foreign Material Removal

Point

Matcon's IBC system/High-mix low-volume production/Precision mixing/In-line sieving/Powder handling

As Japan’s sole sales representative, we deal in the Matcon's IBC system from Matcon Ltd. in the UK. A parallel batch system realizes high-mix low-volume production. We sell unique spherical mixers.

They are equipped with a high-speed rotary impeller and low-speed scraper, and are capable of precision mixing in a short time by tilting the mixing tank.

Matcon's IBC system from Matcon Ltd. in the UK

By adding an automatic discharge valve mechanism to the discharge mechanism of the movable container, smooth powder and granule discharge, storage, filling, mixing, cleaning, and conveyance systems can be combined to allow a series of processes to be automated in a dust-free condition.
